Join Our Ever Growing List of ESLIN™ Users: (Recent Power Industry Applications):
Florida Power & Light specifies ESLIN™ for use at their Port Everglades, FL facility (Next Generation Clean Energy Center). ESLIN™ also in specifications for FP&L planned 1,600 MW CCPP in Okeechobee, FL.
Basin Electric Power Cooperative specifies ESLIN for Outage at their Deer Creek Station in Elkton, SD
Siemens Energy selects ESLIN™ for proposed Cogeneration Unit in Altamira, Mexico
Invenergy has specified ESLIN™ for their 1,300 MW CCPP (Lackawanna Energy Center) planned for Jessup, Lackawanna County, PA. Kiewit Corp. is the EPC for that large power generation facility.
Bluegrass Power Constructors (a Black & Veatch / PCL Constructors consortium) recently completed the construction on a new 600 MW CCPP for Louisville Gas & Electric Company in Cane Run, KY. ESLIN™ was specified in by Black & Veatch for all pipe cover material. This new power plant replaced an old coal-fired plant and is now in service (under-budget and ahead of schedule).
Sargent & Lundy LLC (S&L) is the Consulting Engineer for the new Portland General Electric (PGE) 440 MW Carty Generating Station (CCPP) in Boardman, Oregon. S&L specified ESLIN™ for all services 400°F (204°C) or higher. Abeinsa is the EPC. Nooter/Eriksen also specified ESLIN™ for the HRSG portion.
NUCLEAR — NuScale Power (based on US Navy ⃰ engineering recommendations) has ordered ESLIN™ as the exclusive insulation for use on their prototype Small Modular Reactor (SMR). ⃰ Note: ESLIN™ was specified for use aboard America’s newest nuclear aircraft carrier, the USS Gerald R Ford (CVN-78).
Nooter/Eriksen specified ESLIN™ for all insulation on the new Crescent Dunes Solar Energy Project (CSP) in Tonopah, Utah. ESLIN™ was specified in by Pratt & Whitney Rocketdyne (PWR) after a detailed evaluation of the material in 1050°F (565°C) molten salt service. Solar Reserve developed the project.
Other Power Generation Users: AEP, Alstom, Siemens, Tenaska, Southern, Basin Electric, Oklahoma Cogen., FP&L plus many District Energy Applications (Cities, Universities, Hospitals, etc.)
Historically, Mineral Wool (MW) and Calcium Silicate (CS) Insulation have enjoyed wide usage in power generation facilities. However, MW products at elevated temperatures have commonly experienced binder degradation which results in loss of both structure and thermal performance. Consequently,, many users are now limiting the upper temperature use of MW. Siemens Energy, Suncor Energy, Invenergy and Sargent & Lundy have set their maximum MW use temperature to 400°F (204°C); Nooter/Eriksen picked 600°F. Many users still specify CS because of the perception it can be walked-on. However, CS will develop fissures and cracks over time, degrading thermal performance and yielding piles of rubble whenever cladding is removed. ESLIN™ Insulation has high compressive resistance and is unbreakable.
ESLIN™ is manufactured in Denison, Texas (about one hour North of Dallas). We are available to conduct presentations on-site or via webinar.
